SANCHEZ MEDERO, Gema. Interaction between political parties and parliamentary groups: comparative studies between Spain and Mexico. Rev. mex. cienc. polít. soc [online]. 2011, vol.56, n.211, pp.71-102. ISSN 0185-1918.
In the present article, an analysis of the relationship established by the political parties and their parliamentary groups is exposed to determine the influence of the first on the latter in the House of Representatives. Towards this goal, the two main parties of Mexico, PRI and PAN, have been taken as study cases as well as the two main Spanish parties PP and PSOE. The above has no other aim that to investigate if the inter dependency and interaction that seem to dominate in the relationships are isolated facts, common to European democracies, or, on the contrary, are extended phenomena to the rest of the democracies. Also, to explore to what extent are the modern parliaments losing their relevance, in favor of political parties and what role do they exert over these. Finally, it analysis the existent differences between the Spanish parliament and the Mexican.
