Abstract

PEREZ, Enrique. Desarrollo y medio ambiente: Algunas miradas desde las ciencias sociales. Rev. mex. cienc. polít. soc [online]. 2009, vol.51, n.205, pp.143-163. ISSN 0185-1918.

This study presents some of the theories in regards to the relation between environment and development and poses questions on the manner in which the theme has been developed on the part of social scientists. His purpose is double: a) to show the polysemia of the concept of development in the economic theories and the necessity for these to incorporate indicators beyond the income (such as gender, postmodernism, post colonialism and social subjects); b) emphasize the important work, mostly political, of several theories in the matter of environment and development.

Keywords : medio ambiente; desarrollo; teoría económica.
