Abstract

GOMEZ PERALTA, Héctor. La Iglesia católica en México como institución de derecha. Rev. mex. cienc. polít. soc [online]. 2007, vol.49, n.199, pp.63-78. ISSN 0185-1918.  https://doi.org/10.22201/fcpys.2448492xe.2007.199.42550.

This work explains that the Catholic Church, throughout the history of Mexico, has had an intransigent position be-fore the modernizing reforms. It takes a ride around the historical route of the political role of Catholic Church and an exhibition of her attacks and resistance to the liberal and socialist changes, be-ing named Political Right. Trying to refute the exposition that Catholic Church is a member of the bourgeois ideologi-cal apparatus, it is analyzed the different changes that such catholic clergy position has suffered until the present time getting to hoist certain values of the modernity that once attacked as the religious and conscious freedom.

Keywords : Iglesia católica; derecha; secularismo; relación Estado-Iglesia en México.
