Abstract

DUTRENIT, Gabriela. Weaknesses in the process of knowledge management. The Vitro Envases case. Inv. Econ [online]. 2002, vol.62, n.241, pp.35-80. ISSN 0185-1667.

Nowadays, there is an increasing amount of literature on innovation economics and strategic management, which shares the idea that companies compete on the basis of their capabilities, competence or distinctive routines that develop over time. Knowledge management plays a key role in this process. So far, however, there is little empirical evidence nor theoretical reflection on the characteristics of these processes in companies that are constructing their first core technological capabilities. Toe aim of this document is to explore the characteristics of knowledge management in this type of companies, and centres, in particular, on the analysis of the characteristics and limitations of one of the main global processes of knowledge management: organisational learning.
