According to anthropological tradition, childhood has been positioned in tangential fields of this discipline; the school of culture and personality has been the main one to cover the study of this theme. Recently, there have been studies that have focused on children; however, the new approximation requires reflection on the anthropological meaning of the same, to evaluate the theme from a cultural perspective regarding the social position of boys and girls, i.e. infancy. This involves the study of childhood from two viewpoints: from the perspective of the children themselves and their view of their environment; and, from the perspective of the society in which the children live.
