What is the relationship between heterotropia and the collective memory? Can we still speak of heterotropias in a century in which what is owned by "us" and "them" is in constant tension, whilst still sharing daily life? The purpose of this text is to show that it is impossible to define this concept as the place itself, as it is always in relation to the parameters of exclusion from the dominant social groups, which are changeable and negotiable since they are changing the terms of everyday life due to the emergence of new social actors or by altering the relationship between pre-existing groups. It is the role of guardians of collective memory to assert, retouch or even destroy the conditions of permanence of these "other-spaces" both through its practical use, as well as the discourse about its meaning.
