Resumen

LUNA BLANCO, Mónica  y  SANCHEZ RAMIREZ, Georgina. Los segmentos del cuerpo y sus padecimientos: un análisis preliminar de los procesos salud/enfermedad ligados al VPH y CaCu entre las parteras y promotores de salud de Chiapas. Cuicuilco [online]. 2014, vol.21, n.60, pp.129-146. ISSN 0185-1659.

In order to expand some points of the research on the prevention and awareness of the human papillomavirus infection and cervical cancer in March 2012; a workshop was held with 17 midwives and 3 community health workers in the area of Chiapas. It was considered the "lived body" as a methodological viewpoint, not as an object of study by itself. Both midwives and community health workers recognize the human papillomavirus (HPV) from its biomedical concept and as a sexually transmitted disease. However, they do not have measured in their daily activities the impact that the HPV may have in women's health. Therefore, this is the challenge for the public health systems, to go beyond the transmission of biomedical concepts to the people involved in the health care at their communities, such as midwives and community health workers.

Palabras llave : midwives; embodiment; human papillomavirus (HPV); cervical cancer; Chiapas.
