Abstract

This paper examines the processes of urbanization that have taken place in Mexico City in relation to the territories of the peoples, communities and ejidos. Of particular interest is the current situation regarding social agrarian land ownership (ejidos and communities) in the Distrito Federal (Mexico City) as well as policy changes introduced by the city's government in recent decades to address environmental issues and the participation of the peoples, communities and ejidos in the new conservation and ecological protection programs with regard to their territories.
