Abstract

The aim of this paper is to describe and analyze the religious processes that interfere in the construction of urban identitary territories located in the city of Guadalajara. Diverse religious systems in the urban areas, build different territories. Religious practices from the popular Catholicism as well as religious practices from the church named the light of the world are revised throughout this paper. The first ones take place in Santa Cecilia neighborhood, the second ones in El Bethel. The residents of these neighborhoods are part of a system of beliefs that allows them to identify, distinguish and locate themselves in the heterogeneous and contradictory urban identitary relationships from Guadalajara.
