The following lines deal with the discussion between those who see intercultural education as a "good idea" with no "commitment", which has been conceptualizaqed in a limited fashion and has little practical value, on the one hand, and those who think that it is necessary to find ways to make it practical, con the other. To that purpose, it is necessary to analyze with greater detail concepts such as "interculturality" as well as to insist in the training of teachers who can lead us towards an intercultural education for basic schools.
