This article argues that relations among cultures are always intercultural. It analyzes key anthropological perspectives about culture and processes of change. The analysis focuses on Mexican anthropology up to the present day. Concepts such as sociocultural diversity, interculturality and multiculturalism, whic have been used in the study of social conflicts in the context of globalization, are analyzed taking into account different school of thought and political projects.
