In this essay we try to reflection about the importance of the social participation as an current paradigm in the certain mexican museum cultural production. The lack of that new paradigm in the debate of the museology in our country doesn't allow we to understand the development of our museums and, worst of all, doesn't allow we to deal with one of the most burning problem in current discussion about the cultural heritage: that related with rights and restrictions of the civil society in the cultural goods selection, research, preservation, exposition and usufruct. In this paper we try to discusse if the participatory aspect in the museums it can considers itself as a third aspect of the mexican museology.
