Abstract

RUIZ MARTINEZ, Apen (Carmen). Eulalia Guzmán y la imposibilidad de excavar en suelo nacional. Cuicuilco [online]. 2008, vol.15, n.43, pp.137-157. ISSN 0185-1659.

Eulalia Guzman was an archaeologist involved in multiple cultural, scientific and political spaces in Mexico. However, her career as archaeologist and teacher was somehow questioned if not invalidated after the controversial findings of Cuauhtémoc's bones in 1949. In this article I revisited the Ichcateopan from a feminist perspective to explore the presence and absence of women in archaeology and specially to think about the relations between gender, nationalism and archaeology.

Keywords : Gender; epistemology; scientific practices; nationalism; Eulalia Guzmán.
