Abstract

PICCATO, Pablo. El significado político del homicidio en México en el siglo XX. Cuicuilco [online]. 2008, vol.15, n.43, pp.57-80. ISSN 0185-1659.

Murder has been a central point of reference in the public sphere of post-revolutionary Mexico by incorporating multiple critical voices into the discussion about the performance of the state. This article examines letters to presidents, police news and other sources to show how homicide allows its indirect victims to invoke the potential political implications of impunity.

Keywords : homicide; public sphere; civil society; police news; press; crime.
