PRESTIFILIPPO, Agustín Lucas  and  SECCIA, Oriana. The eclipse of equality in contemporary societies. Notes of ideological criticism. Estud. polít. (Méx.) [online]. 2019, n.47, pp.141-161.  Epub May 31, 2020. ISSN 0185-1616.  https://doi.org/10.22201/fcpys.24484903e.2019.47.69503.

The alarming increase of worldwide inequality in terms of income and patrimony has been recognized as one of the main consequences of the international consolidation of neoliberalism as a regime of economic accumulation and form of government. This break with the historical experiences of Welfare State democratic capitalism has been followed by narratives, discourses and rhetorics that have ideologically supported the eclipse of equality so far. In this paper we analyze the uses given to some rhetorical figures that shape the present frame of neoliberal ideology in Argentina, attending to the ways in which inequality is justified in contemporary subjectivity.

Keywords : neoliberalism; capitalism; social inequality; ideology; democracy.
