Resumen

BEJAR ALGAZI, Luisa. Political parties and public policies. What happens with parliamentary representation in Mexico?. Estud. polít. (Méx.) [online]. 2018, n.44, pp.41-64. ISSN 0185-1616.  https://doi.org/10.22201/fcpys.24484903e.2018.44.64751.

In the present text three questions are investigated, in light of the current difficulties of the political parties: 1) What areas of public policy prioritize legislators when presenting initiatives, and in which decide their leaders support their approval? 2) In what way does this behavior influence the party being in front of the government or in the opposition? Based on this information, 3) how justified is the discontent of the citizenship for their performance as representatives? The central argument is that the legislators and the political parties they represent tend to privilege their link with the State, so their legitimacy as agents of representation before Congress has been deeply impaired.

Palabras llave : Mexico; Congress; political parties; public policies; parliamentary representation.
