In the 2015 election, the Democratic Revolutionary Party (PRD) lost the dominance they held in Mexico City. This phenomenon is explained based on the concept of electoral polyvalence, which makes reference to the most important factors that determine electoral results. In this article we argue that ineffective government action, the internal struggles for the distribution of candidacies, the emergence of MORENA and the mistakes made during the political campaigns caused that Democratic Revolution Party lose the power.
