This article reflects on the necessary link between history and memory for recent history studies in Argentina. Starting from some reflections that the classic debate of the nucleus history and memory invites to rethink; a case study of local repression during the period 1973-1976. The double practice of deconstructing socially rooted memories, along with historical reconstruction; Allowed to debate these rooted senses and shed some light on a growing repressive process in the city of Santa Fe, as in many others in the country, which erupted during the last military dictatorship of 1976.
