The purpose of this paper is to analyze and explain the importance of transparency in the development of contemporary public life, emphasizing its relevance in democratic systems, highlighting its contribution to making governments more open, interactive and visible, which is an important advance to form citizenship, a factor that correlates with the effective performance of government institutions, highlighting the government of the State of Jalisco as the laboratory of this democratic exercise.
