On the first day of May, 2004, the European Union (EU) increased its membership with 25 countries, after accepting 10 new members; 8 of those countries were part of the socialist bloc. This scenery poses a new moment for the relation of Mexico with the EU, by virtue of the Economic Partnership, Political Concertation and Cooperation Agree-ment between Mexico and the European Union (EU), in use since July of 2000. This International Agreement is the most complete instrument that Mexico has celebrated and it opens a large range of posibilities for further improvement in many spheres of interests. If this instrument is capitilized according to convencional standars, it will contribute to the national development. This research concerns the improvement posibilities in all the spheres of the Agreement and it specially focuses the perspective ofthe scenery about the entry ofthe new 10 members to the EU.
