Resumen

PACHECO MENDEZ, Guadalupe. Cambios en el sistema de partidos en el Distrito Federal, 1997-2003. Estud. polít. (Méx.) [online]. 2005, n.4, pp.115-139. ISSN 0185-1616.  https://doi.org/10.22201/fcpys.24484903e.2005.4.37644.

The Mexican Federal District (D. F.) has distinguished itself during the second half of the XXth Century for being the political entity with the gratest bent towards pluralism and diversity in the gamut of opposition parties to the once hegemonic ruling institutional Revolucionary Party (PRI). In addition to that, in the last two decades the D. F. showed a very high electoral volatility. In 1997,2000 and 2003 Federal Elections these trait delved even deeper in the political parties system of the nations capital city, and in each of its 30 electoral dsitricts. As a matter of fact, in 1997 elections in about half of these districts the Revolutionary Democratic Party (PRO) won the majority. In the year 2000 most of the districts showed an almost even tie score between the three major political parties. And in the last Federal Elections (2003) in a bit less than half of the districts the PRO won, while in a bit more than the other half the PRO and the PAN political parties were almost even. Likewise, the electoral power of the PRI has been tom down in the nations capital city.
