Resumen

ESCUDERO, Alejandrina. The Post-revolutionary City in Three Plans. An. Inst. Investig. Estét [online]. 2008, vol.30, n.93, pp.103-136. ISSN 0185-1276.  https://doi.org/10.22201/iie.18703062e.2008.93.2276.

This article reviews three types of maps of Mexico City and the Federal District (Distrito Federal, which embraces the central parts of Mexico City) carried out between 1929 and 1932: the cadastral plans included in the Atlas general del Distrito Federal published by the administration of the Federal District; an artistic map painted by Emily Edwards and commissioned by the tramway and electric power distribution companies, and a land-use regulating map drawn by the town planner Carlos Contreras. The article reflects on the different types of plan, their authors, their commissioners, the degree of dissemination they attained and the way in which they represent the urban space.
