MOLINA, Carlos. Fernando Gamboa y su particular versión de México. An. Inst. Investig. Estét [online]. 2005, vol.27, n.87, pp.117-143. ISSN 0185-1276.

This article explores the ways in which Mexico, as a cultural entity, was presented in the form of different approaches to layout and design for art exhibitions. Exhibitions such as those mounted by Fernando Gamboa and Miguel Covarrubias between 1940 and 1955, approximately, were also illustrated resumes of the nation and its history. This article is also an effort to map theoretical and formal influences in Mexican curatorial practice. Frederick Kiesler and Gisèle Freund are proposed as the probable instigators of this development. The text sets out to analyze an activity in which historical narrative, museographic practice, grammar of space, and both esthetic and political concerns intersect.
