REINOSO, Eduardo e JAIMES, Miguel A.. Criterios para obtener acelerogramas de diseño en sitios afectados por varias fuentes sísmicas usando como ejemplo el caso de terreno firme de la Ciudad de Mexico. Ing. sísm [online]. 2009, n.81, pp.1-18. ISSN 0185-092X.
A methodology to obtain synthetic strong ground motions at a given site affected by several seismic sources is proposed. The method consists on: (1) identification of the main sources that affect the site; (2) computation of a Probabilistic Seismic Hazard Assessment; (3) estimation of the Uniform Hazard Spectra associated to a given return period; (4) application of the Disaggregation Probabilistic Seismic Hazard Assessment; (5) generation of synthetic strong ground motions of the seismic scenarios; and (6) selection of the minimum number of strong ground motions (those whose response spectra match the uniform hazard spectra obtained in step 3). As an example, a family of strong ground motions for the firm soil in Mexico City, ready to be used by structural engineers to analyze and design structures, is also shown; these accelerograms represent the motion that may affect the city (firm soil) considering all seismic sources for a fixed return period.
