State authorities named 2013 the year of the modernization of the public collective transportation system in the metropolitan area of Queretaro. Our interest focuses on understanding the tensions produced with the implementation of this modernization project and the disputes that arose concerning the accommodation in political and productive arrangements that redirected and reorganized providing the service. After presenting the discursive framework, the paper analyzes the transformation of social relations that intervened in the production and use of public transportation services.
