The objective of this article is to show and debate some of the primary premises of the concept of political culture. In this sense, what we hope to show, debate and analyze are the basics of what culture and politics are as contained in political culture. We think that this is the point where its main explicative limitations are to be found. Finally, what we hope to do is contribute to the construction of a critical base on the concept in order to, based on this, rethink it and search for alternate routes for explaining the socio-political phenomenon to be studied.
