This article is an attempt at contributing to debates which have begun about the study of the State and its political processes, with the objective of establishing a methodological proposal to make more in-depth descriptions of the political practices of the actors in their interaction with government structures and parties. It ponders rethinking research strategies of contemporary political processes in order to delineate with greater precision the spheres of condensation of political relations in which fieldwork takes place. The text highlights the potential of quantitative techniques for delineating some points of view for ethnographic observation which have allowed me to carry out more in-depth studies of the contemporary political processes in Mexico City.
