The purpose of this article is to analyze the construction of a social movement as part of the historical processes of the formation of social subjects, spaces and collective identities, based on two lines of inquiry: 1) the links between historical processes and the participation of subjects that allow an understanding of the emergence of different, hierarchical groups that participate in resistance; and 2) how inequalities, hierarchies and their representations are grasped by a given group to give coherence to its political position. The results refer to the complex construction of identities, territory and memory within a collective subject and, also, to why in certain times and spaces some groups organize themselves in an act of collective resistance.
