Abstract

GASPARELLO, Giovanna. No morirá la flor de la palabra... La radio comunitaria indígena en Guerrero y Oaxaca. Nueva antropol [online]. 2012, vol.25, n.77, pp.133-154. ISSN 0185-0636.

This text deals with the media directed by and for indigenous peoples, and in particular with the radio stations established and operated by indigenous organizations and peoples. Beginning with the analysis of radio stations in the states of Guerrero and Oaxaca, the text reflects on the cultural and political role of indigenous communication projects, and on the impact of these projects on community life and regional areas. Likewise, it broaches the question of the difficulties in legalizing community radio stations, an issue that reflects-in the field of communication-the unresolved debate regarding the legal recognition of the right of indigenous peoples to autonomy.

Keywords : community radio; indigenous radio; indigenous autonomy.
