This article presents the definition of a residential group and the usage this category of analysis has been given when it comes to typifying the various forms of human habitation in urban contexts in northern Morocco. Instead of trying to describe this type of "representative" residential group, the author tries to offer an array of possibilities for the study of the families and the new ways individuals establish residence.
