All peoples of the world have tried, through various techniques which can be described as magical, predict the future, determine the cause of misfortunes or illness, as well as locate missing persons or objects. The techniques used are numerous, but, in this paper, we will review divination using zea mays seeds in Mesoamerica, particularly the method of throwing them and decoding combinations generated once the grains have been scattered.
