Abstract
DEHOUVE, Danièle. Seats for the gods in the Mexico of yesterday and today. Estud. cult. náhuatl [online]. 2012, vol.44, pp.41-64. ISSN 0071-1675.
The seat is a recognized attribute of royal power in ancient Mexico, but has been little studied its role in rituals. The paper shows that several Mexica ceremonies were dedicated to representing the production of seats for the deities and that this custom survives today among the Indians. The text also outlines the conversion of the designation of the seats, from the throne pre-Columbian to contemporary table provides examples of its presence in the "ritual deposit".
Keywords : Ritual seats; Mexica; ritual deposit.
