LEON-PORTILLA, Miguel. La riqueza semántica de los códices mesoamericanos. Estud. cult. náhuatl [online]. 2012, vol.43, pp.139-160. ISSN 0071-1675.

This article presents a review and reassessment of the Mesoamerican codices from pre-Columbian times to the present. It proposes that native informants of the first missionaries knew some of these documents, so the author proposes a simultaneous analysis of paintings and stories.
