Abstract

VILLEGAS-GUZMAN, G. A.  and  PEREZ, T. M.. Pseudoescorpiones (Arachnida: Pseudoscorpionida) asociados a nidos de ratas del género Neotoma (Mammalia: Rodentia) del Altiplano Mexicano. Acta Zool. Mex [online]. 2005, vol.21, n.2, pp.63-77. ISSN 2448-8445.

We recorded 153 specimens from eleven species of pseudoscorpions, collected in 32 nests of five species of packrat of the genus Neotoma on the Mexican Plateau. In the nests of N. albigula we found Tychochernes inflatus, Lustrochernes grossus, Serianus dolosus, and Juxtachelifer fructuosus; in the nests of N. goldmani was T. inflatus; in the nests of N. micropus were Pachychernes sp. and Chelifer cancroides; in the nests of N. mexicana were Paraliochthonius sp., Larca chamberlini, S. dolosus, Illinichernes distinctus, and T. inflatus; and in the nests of N. palatina there were Cheiridium insperatum and Dinocheirus sp. We consider to the species Tychochernes inflatus, Pachychernes sp., Larca chamberlini, Illinichernes distinctus and Cheiridium insperatum as permanent inhabitants of these microhabitats. The majority of specimens (41.2 %) were found in the nest proper. We collected all life stages, with adults (39.9 %) being the most abundant. A key for the identification of the pseudoscorpions found is given.
