This work approaches the challenges of progressing in the access to the rights of equality, non-discrimination and a life free of violence for women in rural areas. The lack of access to these rights and the discriminatory and violent behavior that violates them along with other implicit human rights, impede their enjoyment and effective exercise. Actions to prevent, address, punish and eradicate them are a priority within the system of universal protection of the human rights of women and, in particular, of rural women. This is why, in view of the persistence of the practice of these violations in certain areas of the exercise of women’s rights, the content of the international instruments that establish, in a positive sense or in order to get things done, the actions and measures that tend to ensure effective access to, enjoyment and exercise of the rights of equality, non-discrimination, a life free of violence, and that address, prevent, punish and eradicate discrimination and violence against women is analyzed.
