The Inter-American Court developments on the legality principle allows to conclude that this is a transversal premise of the entire American Convention, which imposes as references not only national law but also the standards that legitimately result from the new international human rights order. From this perspective, it is proposed that the judicial creation of the 'conventionality control' is a new dimension of the legality principle of which singular legal obligations are derived for national judges.
