In this essay, the author analyses the principles that govern the execution of prison penalty in Argentina's legal order. With this purpose in mind, the writer identifies the legal rules applicable to the above mentioned matter, beginning with the exposition of constitutional regulations, to approach then the meticulous examination of infraconstitucional rules that regulate constitutional conventions. In this latter level of study, the author investigates the rules contained in argentinean law no. 24.660 and detects the basics directives of the execution of prison penalty, to which he studies in detail.
