The international arbitration is an Altenative Dispute Resolution of conflicts to the jurisdictional one. The States have recognized their advantages when ratifying the universal and regional treaties and to modernize their internal legislations. In the inter-American system we counted on two instruments: the Inter-American convention on international commercial arbitration and the Inter-American convention on extraterritorial validity of judgments and arbitral awards. Both are of fundamental importance for the credibility and confidence ofthe arbitration in the continent.
