This essay seeks to give an explanation of the status of the protection of the human rights of prisioners in the Argentine legal order. With this purpose in mind, the author identifies the rights that the prisoners does not lose as a result oft he execution ofthe prison sentence, which supposes the analysis of the guarantee ofexecutive legality. On the basis of the latter, the author puts forward a typology about control organisms; to do so, he takes into account the application of domestic law and supranational regulation (international protection to human rights), and considers the way in which these instruments have evolved throughout the years.
