In this article, the author examines the concept, development and meaning of statute law which, in spite of not being considered the supreme source of law anymore, still is at the center of the system of sources of law. At least in Italy, and with respect to Communitarian Law, there is an attempt to create a new normative order, which requires the transformation of classic and traditional concepts, such as the concept of statute law.
