Objective:

To describe the case of a newborn with a congenital ovarian tumor.

Case presentation:

The tumor was detected by fetal ultrasound. At two days of life, a surgical excision of the right ovarian cystic tumor was performed without complications.

Conclusion:

Congenital ovarian tumors are rare. The surgical approach allows establishing the diagnosis and giving a definitive treatment.
