Present contribution is based on the talk given at the VI International Symposium on Radiation Physics in Zacatecas (México). It summarizes recent developments on nanoparticle reflectors for very cold neutrons (VCN). Particular attention is devoted to powders of detonation nano-diamonds, possessing exceptional properties for such reflectors. Examples of VCN applications in particle and nuclear physics are given.
