Resumen

MENDEZ MORENO, Juan Pablo  y  RICO BOVIO, Arturo. Education, culture, stereotypes, body, gender and social differences in fashion photography. IE Rev. investig. educ. REDIECH [online]. 2018, vol.9, n.17, pp.165-178. ISSN 2448-8550.

This article addresses the concept of fashion photography device as a form of message and communication mechanism that is used for the display and publication of the attire. This type of images that are positioned in public spaces influence society, intercepting the passer-by with a tax discourse that educates informally on issues of appreciation and interpretation of physical beauty, which can lead to diseases such as anorexia or bulimia in adolescents, for trying to follow the stereotypes established by fashion. Fashion photographic communication produces idealizing messages for different social groups, dividing society by ethnic group, social class, ghetto, gender, and age establishing iconographically who are better than others, homogenizing and discriminating against all those who do not enter the descriptions of the prototypical ideals of men and women. Concluding that a possible solution would be to learn to interpret, describe and criticize this type of images, since they always try to transform us into something that we are not, because they are exhibited through people who appear to be better than us.
