This article studies the influence of cultural and social capital on the international mobility of students at an undergraduate level from three public universities from northwest Mexico. The research was undertaken using a mixed methodology with a sample of 134 students that studied abroad between the years 2006 and 2016. The findings established that the transmission of cultural and social assets developed from childhood has been an advantage to participate in international student abroad. In addition, this experience increased their capital, having a positive impact on their current personal and professional situation. This study contributes to the literature on quantitative-qualitative studies on the topic of international student mobility.
