The research allowed to know the population risk on the possibilities of developing cardiovascular diseases, diabetes mellitus, metabolic syndrome, and others. The objective was to identify anthropometric and biochemical risk predictors for developing non-communicable diseases in university nursing students. A cross-sectional study was carried out and 222 students participated. The information was obtained through an anonymous questionnaire-type instrument. Data related to anthropometric risk predictors were collected: weight, height, body mass index, and waist circumference; also, biochemical risk predictors: glucose, cholesterol, triglycerides. The results of these indicators revealed high proportions of overweight and obesity; in addition, significant levels of glucose and triglycerides, which globally indicate potential cardiometabolic risk.
