We propose a brief bibliographic tour on theoretical conceptual categories of what has historically been understood as tourism and gay tourism, going through field observation, based on ethnography, into sexual work context, until reaching conclusions. Is important to clarify that what we offer here is not a revisionist effort, in any case, is the attempt to show operational and functional aspects for the study itself, based on the Mexican case, within the framework of the last years of 20th century until the present, thinking that one of this document objectives, may be to reinforce the academic reference recently known as “gay tourism”.
