This paper aims to characterize the performance of the Mexican woman who participated in the first Cristero rebellion (1926-1929), from the image and representation by Fernando Robles in his novel The Virgin of the Cristeros, published in 1934. Emphasis was placed on Carmen and her attitude as a teacher and Catholic in their relationship with men and society in the 20's of last century. A gender perspective in a complex and controversial history, from the perception and appreciation of a Mexican writer as eyewitness to historical events. The work is structured with a brief introduction and four sections capable of meeting the objective sought. This was consulted many sources: literature, publicist and journalist.
