WAINER, Andrés  e  SCHORR, Martín. The Argentine Deindustrialization in the Long Neoliberal Cycle (1976-2001): An Approach to the Path of Classes and Class Fractions. Am. Lat. Hist. Econ [online]. 2022, vol.29, n.2, e1287.  Epub 15-Ago-2022. ISSN 2007-3496.  https://doi.org/10.18232/20073496.1287.

In 1974 the Argentine economy accumulated a decade of uninterrupted economic growth; from then until the beginning of the 21st century, it showed a very unsatisfactory performance, especially compared to other countries in Latin America such as Brazil and Mexico. The distinctive feature of this course lies in an intense process of deindustrialization caused by a long neoliberal cycle inaugurated by the last Argentine military dictatorship in 1976. The objective of the article is to investigate the performance of the main economic actors, taking into account the changes in the capital-labor relationship and the transformations that took place within the capitalist class itself. To achieve this goal we go through specialized literature and do a statistical analysis of the main economic variables referring to the industry and the large companies in the sector.

Palavras-chave : industry; social classes; deindustrialization; concentration.
