Ocular involvement secondary to candidemia usually occurs in patients whose health status is compromised, either due to immunological deficits, the presence of catheters or recent surgeries. Therefore, it is necessary to make an early diagnosis together with a close monitoring of the disease. Nowadays, there are many diagnostic imaging options that allow us to carry out this evaluation, and also to monitor the inflammatory and infectious process, as well as identify the complications that arise in it. We present the case of a 22-year-old female patient with candida chorioretinitis in the context of a hospital admission for reintervention of bariatric surgery. During the course of the disease, she was treated with intravenous antifungals, switching to intravitreal treatment with voriconazole and aflibercept in the right eye due to the progression of the infection and the appearance of a choroidal neovascular membrane, detected through multimodal imaging.
