CRUZ-CAMARILLO, Alejandro et al. Therapeutic approach in main duct intraductual papillary mucinous neoplasia of pancreas. Case reports. Gac. mex. oncol. [online]. 2021, vol.20, suppl.1, pp.1-5. Epub 22-Ago-2022. ISSN 2565-005X. https://doi.org/10.24875/j.gamo.20000161.
Pancreatic intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm (IPMN) is one of the pancreatic neoplasms that represents an intraductal proliferation of mucin-producing neoplastic cells distributed in papillary projections. Its classification and potential for malignancy depend on the duct involved, being this close to 80% in those dependent on the main duct (MD-IPMN). The international consensus guidelines indicate that MD-IPMN should be resected by pancreaticoduodenectomy, total or partial pancreatectomy with lymphatic dissection in eligible patients, since the recurrence ranges from 65 to 70% in the residual pancreas.
